Differential Fault Analysis of Rabbit
نویسندگان
چکیده
Rabbit is a high speed scalable stream cipher with 128-bit key and a 64-bit initialization vector. It has passed all three stages of the ECRYPT stream cipher project and is a member of eSTREAM software portfolio. In this paper, we present a practical fault analysis attack on Rabbit. The fault model in which we analyze the cipher is the one in which the attacker is assumed to be able to fault a random bit of the internal state of the cipher but cannot control the exact location of injected faults. Our attack requires around 128 − 256 faults, precomputed table of size 2 bytes and recovers the complete internal state of Rabbit in about 2 steps.

Relaxed Differential Fault Analysis of SHA-3
In this paper, we propose a new method of differential fault analysis of SHA-3 which is based on the differential relations of the algorithm. Employing those differential relations in the fault analysis of SHA-3 gives new features to the proposed attacks, e.g., the high probability of fault detection and the possibility of re-checking initial faults and the possibility to recover internal state...
متن کاملFault Analysis of Rabbit: Toward a Secret Key Leakage
Although Differential Fault Analysis (DFA) led to powerful applications against public key [15] and secret key [12] cryptosystems, very few works have been published in the area of stream ciphers. In this paper, we present the first application of DFA to the software eSTREAM candidate Rabbit that leads to a full secret key recovery. We show that by modifying modular additions of the next-state ...
متن کاملDiagnosis of Different Types of Air-Gap Eccentricity Fault in Switched Reluctance Motors Using Transient Finite Element Method
This paper presents a method for diagnosis of eccentricity fault in a switched-reluctance motor (SRM) during offline and standstill modes. In this method, the fault signature is differential induced voltage (DIV) achieved by injecting diagnostic pulses to the motor windings. It will be demonstrated by means of results that there is a correlation between differential induced voltage and eccentri...
متن کاملtransformer differential protection using the fault-generated high-frequency transient components
Power transformers are the most important components of a power system, so their protection is a critical issue. This paper proposes a novel and efficient algorithm based on the high-frequency components of the differential current signal to discriminate between the magnetizing inrush currents and the internal faults. After detecting the over-current in the differential current signals, samples...
متن کاملMathematical modeling and fuzzy availability analysis for serial processes in the crystallization system of a sugar plant
The binary states, i.e., success or failed state assumptions used in conventional reliability are inappropriate for reliability analysis of complex industrial systems due to lack of sufficient probabilistic information. For large complex systems, the uncertainty of each individual parameter enhances the uncertainty of the system reliability. In this paper, the concept of fuzzy reliability...
